Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen had a Christmas card for Delia and Kristi. She addressed more Christmas cards for family and friends in the afternoon.
Tuesday, Darleen enjoyed the chicken dinner from the Manor kitchen. Becky Bell Krueger visited Grandma Dar in the evening.
Darleen Higgins was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday. She served delicious cookies and coffeecake. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Judy Baumgart, Kathy Larson, Pastor Nancy Reinke, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Cards were played in the south dining room at 2 p.m. Enjoying the afternoon were Lyle Pawlowski, Shirley Bender, Doris Deneke, Marlys Shryock, Darleen Higgins and Darleen Cuppy. Shirley Bender served coffee and big muffins.
Darleen Cuppy received a Cheer Box from the Templeton Women’s Fellowship on Wednesday. It was delivered by Judy Winegar. Darleen is very grateful and has been enjoying several treats a day.
Thursday, Darleen enjoyed the pork dinner from the Manor kitchen and enjoyed the Country Christmas show on TV in the evening.
Friday forenoon, Darleen rode the Springs Area Bus to Angie Mentzer’s for a perm. Darleen enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich, coleslaw and apple crisp from the Senior Center.
Saturday, Darleen enjoyed the hot beef dinner from the Manor kitchen. Darleen’s daughter Cheryl and Craig Van Asperen stopped in with a poinsettia. They then went to the Spartans basketball games against the Howard Tigers here in Wessington Springs at 1 p.m. Darleen watched the games on the school channel. The girls JV team won 20-17. The boys JV team won 45-30. Before the Varsity game the Presentation of Colors and National Anthem was sung. Becky Krueger announced the players. The girls Varsity team won 47-40. The boys Varsity lost to Howard 33-38. It was a very disappointing loss. After the game Brian and Julie Bell, Carlie and Berklie of Mitchell stopped in with a poinsettia for Candi and family.
Sunday morning, Darleen watched the prerecorded Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Harold Stolen and the service from the Sioux Falls Lutheran Church on TV.
Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen.
