Darleen wrote her news Monday morning. Delia got it later in the forenoon. We had some rain. Darleen enjoyed the hamburger, tater tots, green beans and blueberry dessert from the Manor kitchen.
Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham, cheese potatoes, peas and chocolate cake from the Manor kitchen. Darleen’s granddaughter Becky Krueger stopped in the evening. Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins and the Tampa Bay baseball game. The Twins won 7-6.
Wednesday Joyce Mees was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had pretty pink plates and napkins and served a delicious peach coffeecake. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson and Darleen Cuppy.
Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cherry dessert from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Doris Deneke, Marilyn Robbins, Joyce Mees, Ruth Jensen, Diane Carlson, Luella Teveldal, Lynette Marken, Judy Baumgart and Darleen Cuppy. Coffee and cookies were served by Joyce Mees. Darleen’s daughter Cheryl Van Asperen stopped in after golf to visit a while and gave Darleen two pieces of delicious rhubarb dessert. Wednesday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Tampa Bay Rays. Tampa Bay won 3-2 in the 10th inning.
Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus with Rhonda LePage to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for a 9:30 a.m. appointment for a perm. It was raining very hard when Darleen went in and when she went home. Darleen had not heard how much rain we received. Darleen enjoyed the pork chops, sweet potatoes, peas and cake from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins played the Tamp Bay Rays. Tampa Bay won again 7-6 in the 10th inning.
Friday Darleen got birthday cards ready to mail to several family members. Darleen enjoyed the chicken noodle hot dish and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen. Darleen’s nephew Larry Caffee of Rapid City came to visit his dad Lester Caffee in the Manor to wish him a happy birthday. Larry stopped in to visit his Aunt Dar for a while. So nice to see him again. Friday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Oakland A’s. The Oakland A’s won 6-5.
Saturday Darleen’s daughter Cathy White of Sioux Falls came to spend the day. Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread from the Manor kitchen. Cathy went to get Chance Howard and Baleigh Grace Sails from Candi and Leion’s to spend the afternoon. Baleigh and Chance asked Darleen to make them some sweet tea and cookies. Darleen enjoys sweet tea too! Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Oakland A’s. The Twins won big 10-2!!
Sunday Darleen rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. Others riding were Elaine Roetman, Gladys Kieser and Rochell Witte. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. Music by the choir Kirk Luymes on guitar and Chris Schimke on drums, Laura Kieser, Sandy Beckman, Gretchen Burnison, Jan Krohmer and Julie Kraft sang “Ancient Words” and “The House of the Lord.” Several joys and concerns were shared. Elaine Roetman reported her daughter had a successful surgery. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. We sang “We are Climbing Jacob’s Ladder.” The offering was taken. We sang “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow.” The Children’s message was given by Laura Kieser, Julie and Gerald Kraft’s grandchildren were the children. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was Every Word – All Good – All Grace – All the Time. We closed with the hymn “Precious Name.”

Darleen went out for a walk at 8 p.m., it was very hot out!
