Darleen wrote her news Monday morning. Delia got it later in the forenoon.
Darleen ordered groceries from Springs Food Market. Ryan Jensen delivered them later in the day. Darleen appreciates the service. There was no Twins game.
Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the chicken dinner and carrot cake from the Manor kitchen. Tuesday evening Darleen enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play the Detroit Tigers. The Twins won 5-3.
Wednesday, July 3 Darleen Cuppy was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had white plates with red and white striped napkins, and a small vase with three flags for the centerpiece. She also had a large red, white and blue bouquet of flowers on the back counter. Darleen served glazed donuts. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Vera Salter, Lorraine Schultz, Judy Baumgart, new resident Sandy Fuerst, Luella Teveldal, and Pastor Nancy Rieke. Thanks to Kathy Larson for making the coffee and Lorraine Schultz for serving it.
Wednesday noon Darleen enjoyed the chicken drummies, french fries, baked beans and ice cream with strawberries from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs. Bingo was played at 2 p.m. Lynette Marken called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Ruth Jensen, Diane Carlson, Marilyn Robbins, Joyce Mees, Shirley Bender, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Doris Deneke, Sandy Fuerst and Darleen Cuppy. Coffee and a delicious banana cake from Lynette Marken was served. Wednesday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers game. Detroit Tigers won 9-2.
The 4th of July was Thursday. Darleen enjoyed the hamburger, potato salad, coleslaw and dessert from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins played the Detroit Tigers. The Twins won 12-3. In the evening Darleen watched Macy’s 4th of July Spectacular Fireworks on TV.
Friday Darleen enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich, tater tots, peas and fruit from the Manor kitchen. Friday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Houston Astros. Lots of runs – Houston won 13-12.
SaturdayDarleenenjoyed the Salisbury steak dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins played the Houston Astros. The Twins won 9-3.
Sunday Darleen Cuppy, Gladys Kieser, Elaine Roetman and Rochelle Witte rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude and Laura Kieser sang. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We joined the choir - Chris Schimke, Darrel and Diane Winter, Julie Kraft and Gretchen Burnison in singing “Sanctuary” and “Shine, Jesus, Shine.” During joys and concerns, Elaine Roetman said her niece’s surgery went well. We sang happy anniversary to Randy and Gretchen Burnison. We said the Lord’s Prayer. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “Called to Be Holy.” Communion was served by Pastor Cheri and Kristi Hine. We all read the Holy Communion Prayer and closed with the hymn “Victory in Jesus.”
Darleen enjoyed the turkey dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen.
Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Houston Astros at 1 p.m. The Twins won again 3-2. Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails and Baleigh brought Darleen a cheeseburger, potato salad and coleslaw supper from the Cone Zone. Darleen was happy they stayed to visit a while!
