“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen enjoyed the hamburger, tater tots, beans and blueberry dessert from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the New York Mets. The NY Mets won big 15-2.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the New York Mets. New York won 2-0.

Wednesday Lorraine Schultz was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served blueberry muffins and banana bread. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cherry dessert from the Manor. The Minnesota Twins played the New York Mets over the noon hour. The Twins won 8-3. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Marilyn Robbins, Eileen Kraft Thomas and granddaughter, Shirley Bender, Luella Teveldal, Doris Deneke, Joyce Mees, Judy Baumgart and Darleen Cuppy. Delicious cookies were made and served by Shirley Bender.

Thursday Darleen rode the bus with Jim Deines to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for her 10:30 a.m. appointment.

Darleen’s daughter Cathy White of Sioux Falls stopped in – she rented a house for the weekend. Cathy is working on plans for her WSHS class of 1994 reunion. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner and sauce from the Manor. No Twins game. Darleen enjoyed watching the Olympics from Paris in the evening.

Friday Cathy was here to make strawberry angel food dessert for the class reunion. Darleen enjoyed the ham, baked corn, beans and sauce from the Senior Center. Darleen enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play the Chicago White Sox at 7 p.m. The Twins won big 10-2!

Saturday Darleen enjoyed one of her favorite meals from the Manor kitchen – BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread and grapes. Cathy and classmates Julie Schur of Lincoln, NE and Nalani Christensen stopped to visit for a while. So nice to see them again! Darleen enjoyed watching more Olympics from Paris later in the evening.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy, Gladys Kieser and Rochelle Witte rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. Pastor Cheri played the piano for two hymns, “My Hope is Built” and “I Stand Amazed.” Several joys and concerns were shared. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “God’s Wrath Against Mankind.” The Holy Communion prayer was read, and communion was served by Pastor Cheri and Julie Kraft. We closed with the hymn “Amazing Grace.”

Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Cathy was at Darleen’s apartment when she got home from church. She left three beautiful blue and gold star shaped balloons from the class reunion. She drove home to Sioux Falls.

Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Chicago White Sox at 1 p.m. The Twins won again 13-7! Darleen’s grandson Deion James Sails and his children Athena Skye and True James visited Grandma Dar in the afternoon. Darleen’s daughter Candi and Baleigh brought her supper from the Cone Zone and stayed to visit a while.
