Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning and Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.
Tuesday, I enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen.
Wednesday, I was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. I had some yellow plates, some green plates and orange striped napkins. I served mini cinnamon rolls and mini apple pies. I had M&M candy, snack crackers and pretzels, etc. in a bowl to pass around. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Judy Baumgart, Kathy Larson, Luella Teveldal and Joyce Mees. I had snacks for the mail lady too. Thanks to Kathy Larson for making the coffee and serving it. I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and watermelon from the Manor kitchen.
Thursday, I rode the bus with Joanne Grohs to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for my 10:30 a.m. appointment. My daughter Cathy Cuppy White of Sioux Falls came to take me to physical therapy with Jen Jensen. We walked to the appointment. Later Cathy treated me to a root beer float and cheese balls at the Cone Zone and visited with Candi, Leon and Baleigh Sails a while.
Friday, I enjoyed the McRib sandwich, beans, etc. from the Senior Center. In the evening, I watched the Blackhawk football team play the Miller/ Highmore/Harrold Rustlers on the school channel #382. The Blackhawks won big 6220. Doris Deneke and I visited outside.
Saturday, I enjoyed BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread from the Manor kitchen. My daughter Candi Sails and Baleigh brought me a cheeseburger and tater tots for supper and stayed to visit a while.
Sunday Rochelle Witte, Elaine Roetman and I rode the bus to the Methodist Church. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We sang “Lord I Lift Your Name on High” and “Thou Art Worthy.” Several joys and concerns were shared. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. Rod Huisman is a new member. Julie Kraft had the children come down for a message “Bending Over Backwards.” Carlayna Waters did a backward flip as a demonstration. They closed with a prayer. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “Conspiracy” Scripture Psalms 2. We all said the holy communion prayer. Communion was served by Pastor Cheri and Rod Huisman. We closed with the hymn “Nothing But The Blood.” Chris Schimke and Krist Hine were ushers and lit and extinguished the candles.
After church I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Later in the afternoon my niece Linda Cuppy Dikoff of Ipswich came to visit me. My nieces Ethel May and Lynn Yoder of Miller area also came to visit. I served ice cream and cookies.
“Be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead.”
