On Monday, I wrote my news for Delia to come and pick it up. I enjoyed chicken cordon blue for lunch. Cindy called to remind me that the World Series was on.
On Tuesday, October 29, Kelly Knippling Gran came for my Home Health Help. I enjoyed the shredded pork dinner and ice cream. I went to see Jen and Brittany for therapy in the afternoon. Candi came that evening with the ballot for me to vote in the upcoming election.
On Wednesday, Oct 30, I went out to coffee at 9 a.m. Joyce Mees was the hostess. She had black plates with skeletons and orange napkins. She served muffins and candy corn to pass around. I enjoyed the food and fellowship along with Pastor Nancy Rieke, Lorainne Schultz, Judy Baumgart, Kathy Larson, and Verla Barber. Pastor Nancy also served communion to those who wanted it. Becky came in the evening to help me get some things completed.
Thursday morning, October 31, I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s shop for a hair appointment. I enjoyed beef tips over rice. We gathered in the dining room to greet all the young and young at heart come through for trick or treaters. I was thankful to Cindy getting me the candy. It was such a treat for us to see all the smiles and hear the good manners of “thank-you.” Then I had to get back to my apartment to watch the Blackhawks play Winner in the second round of 11B play-offs. It was a tough game for the Blackhawks, but I enjoyed watching their season on Channel 382. I am so grateful for that opportunity. Candi and Baleigh stopped in for a quick minute to see how many kids that came through.
I turned the calendar to November on Friday morning. I went to therapy. I had sweet and sour chicken and rice for lunch. Then on Saturday, November 2, I went outside for a walk in the afternoon. We have had nice fall weather. My daughter, Cindy is good at calling me.
I did not feel strong enough to go to church on Sunday morning. I watched the service on TV with Pastor Salmen. I enjoyed the turkey sandwich, potato salad, and a strawberry/rhubarb pie from OSLC women’s bazaar. Granddaughter, Becky delivered it. Becky came back later in the evening to set my clock back and help with a few other things before the Vikings kicked off at 7:15 p.m., against the Indianapolis Colts.
