“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen’s twin sister Marleen Caffee of Rapid City called Monday afternoon. She is doing good. She was going to have Thanksgiving dinner with some friends from church.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the BBQ chicken dinner from the Senior Center, it was delivered by Joanne Grohs.

The Wednesday 9 a.m. coffee and glazed donuts were served by Luella Teveldal. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Vera Salter, Eldora Hasz, Kathy Larson, Judy Baumgart, Pastor Nancy Rieke, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy.

Wednesday, Darleen enjoyed the Thanksgiving dinner from the Senior Center at noon. It was delivered by Joanne Grohs.

Wednesday at 2 pm bingo was played in the dining room. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Marilyn Robbins, Joyce Mees, Ruth Jensen, Doris Deneke, Judy Baumgart and Darleen Cuppy. Ruth Jensen served coffee and cookies left from the Legion Auxiliary meeting.

Thursday was Thanksgiving Day. Darleen’s daughter Cathy White and Ella Darleen of Sioux Falls got Darleen about 8:30 a.m. and drove to Cindy and Fred Zenk’s farm near Webster. They had turkey, ham, roast beef and all the trimmings and many delicious salads and pies. Others attending were Fred’s mom Judy Zenk and children Crissa and Justin, Mason, Lily Faith and June of Pipestone MN, Meg Zenk, Sawyer, Donald, Sutten, Sage Marie and baby Fallyn Jo, Howard Webster, Danny and Kaela Jo Zenk, Lucas, Owen and Luella Jo of Britton. We enjoyed playing several games of Rummy Kub in the afternoon. Cathy, Ella and Darleen stayed overnight. Cindy served French toast, bacon and sausage for breakfast. Then Cathy drove to Huron, and we stopped at Rest Lawn Memory Garden to view Howard’s grave and Darleen’s parents Mike and Minnie Weeldreyer’s graves. Their plots are together. Darleen got home to her apartment at 5 p.m. Cathy called when they got home at 7 p.m. Darleen was very tired and very grateful!

Saturday Darleen rested a lot! She enjoyed the BBQ ribs and potato wedges, baked beans and cornbread and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen.

Sunday Darleen watched the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Salem and the service from Sioux Falls Lutheran Church on TV. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen.
