“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen thinks she has been writing Cuppy’s Corner News for 50 years!

Elaine Roetman stopped inwiththechurchbulletin. Candi Sails got some things Darleen needed. Monday evening Darleen watched the Middle and High School Christmas concert on the school channel. It was wonderful! Brock Krueger and Raylee Fagerhaug sang a solo in “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” Mrs. Julie Fastnacht and Mrs. Renee Munsen are excellent directors. Darleen’s daughter Cheryl Van Asperen and granddaughter Becky Krueger stopped in after the concert.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 6 p.m. Darleen watched the Spartans girls; basketball games with Wolsey-Wessington on the school channel. The Spartans won all three games C 24-14, JV 48-18, & Varsity 46-26.

Wednesday Darleen was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee, Darleen had green plates and red striped napkins and served mini cupcakes, mini pecan tarts and cinnamon rolls. Darleen gave a Christmas card to each guest. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Eldora Hasz, Kathy Larson, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, and Joyce Mees. Thanks to Kathy Larson for making the coffee.

Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s for her 10:30 a.m. hair appointment. Darleen enjoyed the pork dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 4 p.m. the Spartans boys played at Faulkton. Darleen watched the games on the school channel.

Friday Darleen got lots of mail ready to send. Darleen enjoyed the tater tot hot dish dinner from the Senior Center.

Saturday was a very cold and blustery day. Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, baked potato and baked beans dinner from the Manor.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy, Elaine Roetman, Rochelle Witte and Mary Lou Cameron rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist church. Lisa Edwardsplayedabeautiful prelude. Kristi Hine was the worship leader. The Advent candle reading was done by JR Hine and Chris Schimke while Kristi Hine lit the candles. We sang “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.” The choir members Jan Krohmer, Laura Kieser, Sandy Wenzel, Lila Hoffman, Gretchen Burnison, Lynda and Kirk Luymes, and Chris Schimke sang “Rejoice with Exceeding Great Joy.” Lisa Edwards played the piano. During Joys & Concerns, Laura Kieser announced she got gloves and games for the children at Fort Thompson for Christmas. Some members gave money so she could get enough games for each child. We sang “Joyful, Joyful We Adore You.” The offering was taken, and the doxology was sung. Pastor Derek Baum was on the big screen to give his sermon on Joy. We sang “Joy to the World.” Service was closed with the benediction.

Darleen enjoyed the dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Darleen watched the Minnesota Vikings play the Los Angeles Raiders. The Vikings won 3-0. In the evening Becky Krueger came to type Darleen’s Christmas letter which made Darleen very grateful!
