Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Monday evening, I watched the SDSU Lady Jacks play the University of Connecticut. UConn won 90-57.

Tuesday Loni Reindl gave me a massage on my neck and shoulders at 10:30 a.m. At noon I enjoyed the shredded pork dinner and cheesecake from the Manor kitchen. My granddaughter Baleigh Sails came after school and for supper. Candi Sails was working in Mitchell. When she got back, she helped me set the table in the dining room. I serve for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday.

Wednesday, I served at the morning coffee hour. I had some light blue plates with Easter egg napkins and some dark green plates with yellow daffodil napkins. I served frosted donuts and a snack mix of pretzels and cheese curls to pass around. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Kathy Larson, Luella Teveldal, Lorraine Schultz, Kathy Brandenburg and Judy Baumgart. I enjoyed the chicken dinner and pudding from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon along with me were Ruth Jensen, Joyce Mees, Doris Deneke, Eileen Kraft Thomas, Marilyn Robbins, Luella Teveldal and Judy Baumgart.

Thursday, I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for my 10:30 a.m. appointment. My twin sister Marleen Caffee lives in Rapid City. She called to visit in the afternoon. We had a long visit! Baleigh Sails came after school and for supper. Candi Sails was working in Mitchell.

Friday, I enjoyed a chicken pot pie and chocolate pudding cup for dinner. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger helped me with several things in the evening. I am very grateful.

Saturday the weather turned bad; it was very icy. My daughter Candi Sails said it was very icy driving home from working in Mitchell. The prom was on Saturday evening. I enjoyed seeing the couples being introduced on the school channel. Becky Bell Krueger did a wonderful job introducing each couple. They all looked beautiful. I hope they got home safe.

Sunday, I didn’t go to the Methodist Church. I had a headache and cold. Candi and Baleigh Sails were ushers. (I asked them to bring me a bulletin.) I watched the Christian Worship Hour on TV. I enjoyed the pork dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen.
