I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the hamburger, tator tots, green beans and pudding for dinner. In the evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals. The KC Royals won 4-2.
Tuesday, I had the meatloaf dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. At 2:30 p.m. the Methodist Women’s Fellowship met in the dining room. Attending were Pastor Cheri Van Gorp, Elaine Roetman, Diane Winter, Darleen Cuppy, Judy Lewis, Eileen Thomas, Rochelle Witte, Mary Jane Belz, Diane Patton, Sandy Wenzel, Kathy Brandenburg, Cheryl Manthei, and Mary Lou Cameron. I took a wood cross with lilies on it for the centerpiece. I have had it for many years! Harold Mettler made the cross and his wife Pat put the lilies on it. For lunch we enjoyed crackers and cheese spread and lemon cake with cool whip and blueberries. Tuesday evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals. KC Royals won 2-1.
Wednesday Luella Teveldal was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had cute Easter bunny plates and napkins. She served tasty caramel rolls. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Lorraine Schultz, Darleen Cuppy, and Kathy Larson. Wednesday noon I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cherry dessert from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. A small group attended, and Joyce Mees called the numbers. Others playing were Sandy Fuerst, Darleen Cuppy, Luella Teveldal and Eileen Thomas. I had good luck!! I took four quarters and won 10, so I made $1.50! Joyce Mees brought cupcakes, and I took cookies for our coffee time. Wednesday evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the KC Royals. The Twins won 4-0 over the KC Royals!
Thursday forenoon I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. Later I ordered groceries from Springs Food Market. Peggi Jensen delivered them. I appreciate the service. Thursday noon I enjoyed the pizza, lettuce salad and pudding from the Manor kitchen. At 1 p.m. the Minnesota Twins played the KC Royals again. KC Royals won 3-2. In the evening, I watched the program on channel 10 (PBS) showing scenery and events of Wessington Springs.
Friday, my daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster called in the forenoon. She and a friend were attending a convention in Spearfish. I enjoyed the roast beef meal and peach sauce for dinner. It was a nice day, so I went out for a walk.
Saturday, I enjoyed the BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread from the Manor kitchen. My grandson Deion Sails stopped in to visit awhile then went up to the Cone Zone. In the afternoon I rode the bus with Joanne Grohs to the Opera House to attend the 2 p.m. performance of Cinderella. Thanks to Becky and Mike Krueger for getting me a special chair, etc. The performance of Cinderella was so delightful.
Sunday, I rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church for the 11 a.m. service. Also riding was Mary Lou Cameron and Rochelle Witte. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. It was Palm Sunday so we each received a palm leaf to wave. The children from C.O.W. club (Come on Wednesday) performed a skit, The Final Week of Jesus’ Life on Earth. Scene 2: The Triumphal Entry - “Tell Me the Story of Jesus”, “Hosana”. Scene 3: The Last Supper. Scene 4: The Garden of Gethsemane/Jesus Betrayal & Arrest. Scene 5: The Crucifixion and Burial - “Were You There”. Scene 6: The Resurrection. Scene7: Jesus Among His Disciples - “Alive, Alive” “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”. The offering was taken and Benediction was Philippians 4:6-7. I hope everyone had a great week!
