I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed a beef noodle hot dish and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen. There was no Minnesota Twins game – All Star break.
Tuesday forenoon my daughter Cheryl Van Asperen of Huron stopped in to visit a while and brought me a plate of delicious banana bars. She was getting some meat from Mettler’s Lockers. I enjoyed the fried chicken dinner and carrot cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening my granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger came to help me with several things. I’m very grateful!
Wednesday Lorraine Schultz was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served delicious coffeecake. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy, Kathy Brandenburg, Judy Baumgart, and Luella Teveldal. Her daughter Kari from Pierre stopped in to visit a while. At noon I enjoyed the lasagna dinner and pudding from the Manor kitchen. Bingo was played in the dining room at 2 p.m. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Ruth Jensen, Joyce Mees, Doris Deneke, Luella Teveldal, Darleen Cuppy, Judy Baumgart and Marilyn Robbins. Doris Deneke furnished delicious brownies for coffee.
Thursday, I didn’t go to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. I wasn’t feeling good. My daughter Candi Sails took me to the clinic for a check-up. Nothing serious was found. I need to relax and not worry so much. Later I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich and pudding from the Manor kitchen. My neighbor Cecile Knight stopped in with my Avon order and visited a while.
Friday, I had chicken, potato salad, and watermelon from the Manor kitchen. At 7 p.m. the Minnesota Twins played the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies won 6-4.
Saturday, I enjoyed the Salisbury steak dinner and cake for dinner. I went for a walk in the afternoon.
Sunday, my stomach felt upset, so I didn’t go to church. I felt bad that I missed Pastor Cheri’s welcome and prayer, the message from Leah Kraft Thomas from her missionary work in Ireland, and Leah’s daughters did an Irish dance. I enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. the Minnesota Twins played the Colorado Rockies. The Twins won big 7-1. In the evening, my daughter Candi Sails brought me a delicious cheeseburger and coleslaw from the Cone Zone. She stayed to visit a while.
