Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the beef tips and noodles hot dish, carrots and grapes from the Manor kitchen Tuesday, I had physical therapy with Brittany. My grandson Deion Sails of Sioux Falls stopped to see me when I was at PT and left a great note. Tuesday evening the Wessington Springs Spartans girls JV played ACDC Thunder. The Spartans won 37-14. At 7:30 p.m. the Spartans boys Varsity played ACDC Thunder and won big 70-41.

Joyce Mees was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday. She had Valentine plates and napkins. She served delicious banana muffins and crackers and cheese. Enjoying the food and fellowship along with me were Judy Baumgart, Pastor Nancy Rieke, Kathy Larson, Lorraine Schultz and Luella Teveldal. Pastor Nancy served Communion to those who wished to partake. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger brought first grade students that gave each of us a picture made with shapes of circles, triangles, hexagons, etc. My friend was Kaysen.

Bingo was played at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Marilyn Robbins, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Ruth Jensen, Doris Deneke, Shirley Bender, Lynette Marken and me. Later coffee and cookies were enjoyed.

Thursday, I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich dinner from the Manor kitchen. My granddaughter Baleigh Grace Sails came after school. Candi Sails was working in Mitchell. In the evening the Wessington Springs Spartans girls hosted the Blackhawks JV team. The Spartans won 33--3 0 . The Varsity girls played at 7:30 p.m. and the Blackhawks won 78-62.

Friday, I got a perm at Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. It was with a gift certificate from Darryl and Nancy Cuppy. Later I enjoyed the brat, potato salad and cantaloupe from the Manor kitchen.

Saturday, February 1, was my twin sister Marleen and my 92nd birthday. My family met at the Wessington Springs Senior Center. We had potluck dinner with lots of food! Attending were Cheryl and Craig Van Asperen of Wessington, Darryl and Nancy Cuppy of Harrold, Carol Collins of Castlewood, Brittany and Trent Ezra and Micah Luoma of Watertown, Ashley Collins and boyfriend Tony of Watertown, Dylan and Lauren Collins and baby girl Evelyn Carol of Webster, Cindy and Fred Zenk of Webster, Crissa (Zenk) Fruechte, Lily, Faith, June and Wells of Pipestone, MN, Candi and Baleigh Sails of Wessington Springs, Deion James Sails, Athena Skye and True James of Sioux Falls, Cathy and Ella Darleen White of Sioux Falls (sorry Nora was sick), Becky and Mike Krueger joined us for supper. Sunday, I called the bus to get me for church – I waited and waited- but it never came. I watched a church service on TV. Later I enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen.
