I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it late in the forenoon. I enjoyed the hamburger, tator tots and pudding from the Manor kitchen. At 1 p.m. the MN Twins played the Chicago White Sox. It was a close game – Chicago White Sox won 6-5.
Tuesday, I enjoyed the ham dinner and chocolate cake from the Manor kitchen. It was a nice day, so I went for a walk late afternoon. At 6:30 p.m. I watched MN Twins play Chicago White Sox. Chicago won big 12-3.
Wednesday, Sept. 3, Kathy Brandenburg was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served fig newtons and sugar cookies. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy, Lorraine Schultz, Judy Baumgart and Luella Teveldal. Thanks to Lorraine for making and serving the coffee. My twin sister Marleen Caffee called me from Rapid City. She lives in an apartment; their building has seven stories. We enjoyed catching up on our families’ activities. At 6:30 p.m. the MN Twins played the Chicago White Sox. It was a close game White Sox won 4-3.
Thursday, I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for a 10:30 a.m. appointment. I enjoyed the pork chop dinner from the Manor kitchen. I was going for a walk early evening, but it was so hot and so windy, I went back to my apartment! At 8 p.m. the MN Twins played Chicago White Sox. It was a high scoring game – White Sox 11 and Twins 8.
Friday, I enjoyed a pasta hot dish my daughter Candi Sails made. She also got some things I needed. Mike Krueger came in the evening and got my answering machine to work. At 6:30 p.m. I watched the MN Twins play the Kansas City Royals. It was a close game. K.C. Royals won 2-1. Saturday, I enjoyed one of my favorite meals from the Manor kitchen. BBQ ribs, baked beans, potato salad and a banana. My daughter Cindy Zenk called to let me know SDSU Jackrabbits were playing football against Montana State. I didn’t see the first quarter – at halftime the Jacks had 17-Montana 10. Third quarter it was 17-17 and fourth quarter 17-17. First overtime was 24-24, second overtime the SDSU Jacks won 3024! Local player Quenten Christensen plays for SDSU Jackrabbits!
Sunday, I watched the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Salem on TV. I enjoyed the Swiss steak dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen. At 1 p.m. I watched the MN Twins play the Kansas City Royals. They finally won a game 5-1. In the evening, my granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger helped me with several things. I am very grateful!
