Saturday, December 27 Grandma was visited by Cheryl , Darryl and Nancy, Candi, Deion, Athena, and True.
Sunday and Monday, December 28 and 29th Grandma Dar remained at Avera McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls. Cheryl and Candi were with her and Cathy, Ella, and Nora stopped in.
On Tuesday, December 30, Melissa Bastemeyer stopped in to visit Grandma Dar before she left Sioux Falls. Cindy went to Sioux Falls to transfer Grandma back to Weskota Manor in Wessington Springs. She is at the Manor to do her therapy to regain her strength in hopes of going back to her apartment. Cindy had arranged for them to bring her recliner over from the apartment.
On Wednesday, December 31, Cheryl, Cindy, and Becky did some errands for Grandma Dar. Fred Zenk rode with Danny, Kaela, Owen, Lucas, and Luella Zenk to visit in the afternoon. The kids enjoyed the birds and made Great-Grandma Dar some wonderful Christmas decorations. Candi visited in the afternoon. Grandma received a little bouquet of flowers from Carol and Jeff. She was up and walked down the hallway to the nurse’s station. Grandma Dar is very appreciative of the kindness and help that she has received and continues to receive in the Manor.
Thursday, January 1, 2026, Happy New Year!
On Friday, January 2, Carol came. Grandma went to game time midmorning and Bingo in the afternoon. She won three times!
On Saturday, Carol ate lunch with Grandma before going back to Castlewood. Grandma sends her condolences to the family of Bernice Burg. Candi and Julie (Burg) Bruckner were classmates. Carol took down the Christmas decorations and Becky brought out some Valentine décor. After lunch Grandma was able to watch the Spartans take on the Highmore-Harrold Pirates. The girls lost a close one and the boys won handily. Candi stopped after work. Brian, Julie, and Berklie Bell of Mitchell stopped in, as they were in town for the Ness Christmas. Mike, Becky, Rydell, and Brock stopped after the ballgames. The boys will soon be starting back to college.
On Sunday, January 4, 2026, Cathy called to tell Grandma Dar that the Vikings were playing. Great day for Vikings fans, the Vikings beat the Green Bay Packers 16-3. Grandma went to the dining hall at 3pm for church service by Tempelton. Helping with the service was the Joe and Tera Lopez family with children Cheri, Trust, Daniel, Quest, and Prairie Rose. She really enjoyed the service. Cindy did a video chat and Becky stopped in to visit after supper. Again, Grandma Dar is very appreciative of all the care and support she is receiving as well and the love and prayers you send on her behalf. “So Very Thankful, Incredibly Grateful, and Unbelievably Blessed!” “It takes a lot of courage to have an attitude of gratitude during the dark times.
