On Wednesday, Grandma Dar had PT. Lasagna was served for lunch. Grandmawonfour times at BINGO. Becky stopped after supper and brought me two oatmeal raisin cookies. She had made them for the Brett Miller benefit tomorrow night. Grandma told me she baked a lot of cookies in her days, and she sure enjoys eating them all now. When Becky was here, Cindy called me on video chat, so the three of us got to visit.

Thursday, Feb 12, 2026, breakfast was oatmeal with raisins. We decorated Valentine’s cookies with frosting and sprinkles. Lori Kopfmann painted my fingernails a pretty pink. Grandma enjoyed watching the Spartans play Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots on the school tv channel. The girls beat the Patriots 48-41 and the boys won 60-46. There was a great crowd. Grandma also wishes great grandson Mason Fruechte the best of luck as he is in the team wrestling duals in Minnesota.

Friday, February 13, 2026, we had a great time at our Valentine’s party. We each got our decorated sack filled with many delicious treats. A beautiful bouquet of flowers came from Cindy and Fred delivered by Ranchy Stems. Dr. Limm stopped to see Grandma Dar and changed some of her medications. Brock Krueger was high jumping for DSU in Yankton and he got 2nd place, clearing the bar at 6’ 3.25”. She enjoyed soup and sandwich for supper and watched the Olympics on tv.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Saturday, February 14, 2026, was a great day! The weather was amazing and I had some wonderful company. Darryl and Nancy Cuppy of Harrold, SD; Dave and Nicole Hedt of Faulkton; Kyle, Henson, and Rowe Cuppy of Fort Pierre came to spend the day with me. They brought me another beautiful bouquet of flowers. Becky Krueger came out to visit all of us, as well. They went to lunch at Sweet Grass, where Mike Krueger joined them. When they came back to my room, we got to FaceTime with Casey Cuppy and his two kids, Cash and Hendrix from Phoenix, AZ. Technology is SO amazing!! Nicole and Dave had been to Colombia. She showed me many amazing pictures from that trip. Cash made me a paper snowflake. Hard to believe we don’t have snow here in SD. Cindy messaged Becky that my frame wasn’t working, so Becky unplugged it and then Cindy could call in. Again, that technology is so wonderful when it works.

Sunday, February 15, 2026, I attended church at 3 p.m. Pam Hainy gave the message, and Diane Fastnacht played the piano for the hymns. We enjoyed some cake and ice cream after church. Becky came to visit. She wheeled me outside to sit on the patio for some fresh air and sunshine. What a beautiful February day. We don’t get those nice days every year. Someone had told me that when it was once this nice in February it then blizzarded for the next six weeks. I know we need moisture, but I hope the blizzards don’t come for the next six weeks. We had a tuna casserole for supper.

“Thank you for blessing me with a great family, not a perfect one, but a great one!”
