GRATEFUL I HAD A PRAYING GRANDMOTHER

I am so grateful and thankful that I had a praying Grandmother. I often wonder where my life would be if she had not been a praying Grandma!

One thing that I remember thinking was Grandma was really old, probably 60! Yikes! That means she would have been younger than me right now! But one thing that she did that always amazed her grandkids, was to turn perfect cartwheels, in her small kitchen, alongside her kitchen table.

My proper Grandma, legs up in the air with her belted a-line paisley dress and black clunky shoes on. Just as Grandma was using her muscles and doing cartwheels all of her life, she was also using her prayer muscles daily. Therefore, her prayers were very strong prayers. Fervent prayers. Passionate prayers. And just so you know, not all her prayers were realized at the time of her death.

One of her sons lived an extremely wayward life, but two weeks before his death, he finally gave his life to Christ. Grandma passed away in September of 1984, and her son passed away in 2014. Thirty years later Grandma’s prayers were answered. Never give up. Never lose hope.

Praise God I had a praying grandmother, who never gave up. Never stop praying for your loved ones. Even if you don’t see it in your lifetime, your prayers will be answered. It’s a promise from God. 2 Peter 3:8 says “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” WE were told at Grandma’s funeral she was calling out the names of each of her family members before she died, for their salvation, to live in eternity. To be soldiers and warriors for the Kingdom of God. Now, that is a legacy to behold!
