Thanks to those who give of themsleves , to protect us and come to our aid
To the editor: This past week we observed Veterans Day honoring those who have sacrificed to protect our country. It is certainly wise and appropriate that we do so. It brings into focus how important it is to have those who are/were willing to sacrifice for others.
There is another group who give of themselves to protect us and come to our aid when the need is there. I am speaking about all the first responders who take risks and often take time away from family and loved ones to help out in times of need.
Every time one of our law enforcement professionals stop a vehicle on the highway they do not know what might be coming next. When the whistle blows our firemen drop everything and rush to deal with the emergency without warning of what risks lie ahead. The same is true of our EMTs who take extensive training and make themselves available 24-7 to provide lifesaving care whenever it is needed.
All these folks deserve our recognition and our thanks for all they do to keep us and our community safe and strong. Thank you first responders!!
