The first meeting of the 2025 year was held for the Wessington Springs Senior Citizens Center on Monday January 13. New officers were elected to replace those officers whose terms had expired. Our new Vice President is Delia Atkinson, Secretary is Cathy Perry, and the vacant Director seat is filled by Kim Schultz. They join the rest of the board members President Tom Mitzel, Treasurer Eileen Thomas, Director Delvin Feistner and Director Paul DiCarlo.
The next bingo game day will be Saturday February 2 from 2-4 p.m., we hope to see you there for a fun afternoon. Monday through Friday, except holidays, ROCS employees Marla Ness, Joanne Eddy and Sherri Redman serve up delicious meals at noon for dine-in or to-go. The cost for this meal is $5 for seniors and $8 for non-seniors. Menus are posted each week in True Dakotan newspaper and monthly menus are available at the center. Every Wednesday morning from 8 – 10 a.m. coffee and rolls are available for $2.50. Foothills Bible Fellowship also conducts a bible study group in the north dining area at 9 a.m. on Wednesday mornings.
Membership dues for 2025 are now due for existing members and anyone new who would like to become a member. Annual membership dues are $20 per person, it’s a great way to keep your senior center vibrant and flourishing. Please come to the monthly meetings which are held the second Monday of every month and voice your opinion on other activities the center could offer our senior citizens.
