Democracy and Covid

Battles between advocates for individual freedom and public officials regarding implementation of various public mandates (mask wearing, vaccination, etc.) continue. To me these represent conflicts which go to the very heart of the democratic process.

City at the Foothills

Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner from the Manor kitchen Monday noon. It was delivered by Marla Ness. Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play Boston Red Sox Monday night. Twins won 8-3.

Do I need a Covid booster?

Do I need a Covid booster? Once again that question comes up. The CDC has issued fairly specific recommendations as to who is “eligible” to get the booster. This is a slightly different question than “do I really need it”? My answer, however, is the same.

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day.

Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the Salisbury steak dinner from the Senior Center Monday noon. It was delivered by Joanne Grohs. Wednesday our 9 a.m. coffee, crackers, cheese and Bismarks were served.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, what do you see? I see a teacher looking at me.

What do I see every day at school? I see friendships and kindness, not based on politics, race, religion, or economic status. I see kids helping each other, without asking for anything in return. I see young children who smile at anyone they walk by, even if they don’t know them.

Dear Editor, The Huron Area Concert Association is cordially inviting all readers and friends of the True Dakotan to attend the Mollie B Show on Sunday, May 8 (Mother’s Day), at the Huron Event Center, 501 Wisconsin Ave SW, in Huron. Doors will open at 1 p.m. with the show scheduled for 2 p.m.
