Drawing a Crowd for a Cause

Third Annual “Holes for Haven” Held at Springs Country Club

After realizing how cherished a handmade keepsake box was to not only their daughter Remington, but the whole family, Rodney and Erin Yost (pictured holding the box at center right) felt the need to share this comforting memorial with other families through their grief of losing an infant. The boxes are distributed to hospitals across the region or through private requests which is the reasoning behind the “Holes for Haven” Golf Tournament. So far, the family has gifted more than 50 boxes to grieving parents.

The third annual 18-hole two person scramble golf tournament took place Saturday, August 19 at the Springs Country Club, drawing over 30 teams to the cause. Golf teams are shown above just before the shotgun start Saturday morning. Results follow: Championship Flight First place: Michael Keeton and Rodney Yost (59) Second place: Joyce and Brock Krueger (61) Third place: Mason Schelske and Devon Kleven (62) First Flight Kaci Anson and Kristi Hine (73) Teresa Fonder and Gloria Vavra (74) Preston Kleven and Brady Weischedel (76) Second Flight Joel and Patsy Sorben (83) Lacy Schimke and Emma Wilde (83) Tom Framstad and Morgan Rostyne (84)
