Sixteen contestants represented Jerauld/Buffalo County 4-H at the 2026 South Dakota State 4-H Finals Rodeo, held Aug. 14-16 in Fort Pierre.
Local competitors turned in several strong finishes during the three-day event, led by Wyatt Fagerhaug, who captured the top average in junior team roping after placing first in the opening goround and second in the second go-round. Ella Fagerhaug finished third overall in senior ribbon roping, while Jaylen Pivec placed sixth overall in junior pole bending and Londyn Mikkelson finished seventh overall in senior pole bending.
Also representing Jerauld/ Buffalo County were Kix Coleman, Kaddilac Coleman, Lawson Fagerhaug, Rylan Fagerhaug, Hastin Heezen, Selah Havlik, Briggs Lingen, Dustlyn Lingen, Liberty Mikkelson, Dally Nickels, Lucas Pivec and Crawleigh Reiner.
