Wolsey-Wessington eSports competitors continue to post strong results as the regular season enters its final two weeks.
Jayden Eggleston earned a 3-0 victory in Super Smash Bros. against Tea Area, improving his statewide ranking to 16th.
In Mario Kart competition, twins Jackson and Jayden Eggleston secured a 2-0 win over Rapid City Central. The duo is currently ranked fourth in the state.
Several other Wolsey-Wessington players remain active in the statewide rankings. Jeven Zerfoss and Kolton Sopko, competing as Team JK, are ranked 27th in Mario Kart. In chess competition, Connor Beals is ranked 23rd, while Zerfoss stands 47th. In Super Smash Bros., Boston Grubham is ranked 103rd, and Jackson Eggleston is ranked 122nd. Only two weeks remain in the regular season. The South Dakota State eSports Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 13–14 at Aberdeen Central High School.
To qualify for the state tournament, Chess and Super Smash Bros. players must finish in the top 32 statewide, while the top 16 Mario Kart teams will advance.
