The WWSSC Bucks fell 21-0 to Winner, but head coach Michael Schmitz saw plenty of positives in his team's performance.
“Wow, what a fun game,” Schmitz said. “We may have not scored enough points to win the game, but we took a major step forward.”
Quarterback Grason Finn completed 6 of 7 passes for 57 yards with one interception. Teagen Eggleston caught three passes for 22 yards, while Carson Finn had two receptions for 31 yards. Wesley Molnar led the ground game with 16 carries for 68 yards.
Defensively, Jaspur Gran and Trevor Johnson each recorded an interception, with Johnson returning his 37 yards. Eggleston added a sack.
Schmitz said the Bucks were able to move the ball offensively, while the defense stepped up to slow Winner in the second half. Special teams also blocked two punts.
“This team played aggressively and with passion,” Schmitz said. “I am excited to see the next step we take next week.”
