Friendly competition and a little four-legged flair will take center court when a donkey basketball tournament trots into Wessington on Friday, Jan. 9, bringing together teams from four neighboring communities for a night of family-friendly entertainment.
The tournament will feature two opening games, beginning with the Rustler Riders from the Miller FFA Chapter taking on the Wolsey-Wessington Barnyard Ballers, representing the Wolsey-Wessington FFA Chapter. In the second matchup, the Gym Class Heroes, made up of Wessington community members, will face the Spartan Stallions of the Wessington Springs FFA Chapter. Winners of each game will advance to the championship round.
The event is sponsored by Rocking Z Acres, Agtegra, Clarke Insurance, Simplot, Wessington Cenex, Dakota Air Spray, Resel Oil, Western Pump, Adee Honey, Foster House Boarding and Grooming, Heartland State Bank, Hedge Farm’s and Vern’s Manufacturing.
A concession stand with a variety of food options will be available throughout the evening. Coolers will not be allowed.
