Wessington Springs Elementary student Carlayna Waters took second place allaround with a score of 36.4 at last month’s state youth gymnastics competition.
Among 16 girls in the nineyear- old flight competing in Xcel Gold, Waters won third place in vault with a score of 9.1; first place in bars with a score of 8.9; second place on beam with a 9.325; and third place on floor with a score of 9.075.
