Volley For A Cure Slated for Friday, Oct. 21

Proceeds from silent auction, bake sale, quilt raffle and more to aid local cancer effort

Volley for a Cure, a cancer awareness event that each year for the last decade raises thousands for Weskota Foundation’s Cancer Awareness fund, is slated for this Friday, October 21. The fund provides assistance for local cancer patients in the way of fuel cards that help with travel expenses and other gift cards to ease the day-to-day burden during cancer treatment. The fund also provides cancer awareness, education and prevention-based activities in Jerauld County.

In addition to holding a 50/50 drawing, silent auction along with selling baked goods and signs in honor and in memory of loved ones, the Lady Spartan volleyball team is holding a quilt raffle as an additional fundraiser. The quilt (pictured at right) was made by local woman Donna Grieve and features Volley for a Cure and other volleyball t-shirts from previous years.
