The Springs Country Club provided a homecourse setting as Wessington Springs welcomed area teams for the 281 Conference Cross-Country Championships on Wednesday, with local Spartan and Warbird runners earning strong finishes.
Wessington Springs’ Alexis Roesler led the Spartans in the girls’ race, helping the team place fourth overall.
Wolsey-Wessington’s Kendal Uttecht claimed a third-place finish in 20:52.18, securing a podium spot and leading the Warbirds in the girls’ division.
Beautiful fall weather gave local athletes a boost as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
