By John Andrews I often thought of that famous Dunkin’ Donuts television commercial from the early 1980s as we traveled the state on our great South Dakota Donut Tour. In the ad, a weary baker rises in the wee hours of the morning and says, almost robotically, “Time to make the donuts.”

Show to air on SDPB next month When avid Prairie Yard and Garden fan, Brenda Fagerhaug, was viewing an episode of the horticulture show last year, it dawned on her that Shakespeare Garden would be a perfect subject for an upcoming show.

What began as a logistics conversation about storing the Wessington Springs United Church of Christ’s organ after the church’s closing in 2020, evolved into a thorough, detailed, mutually beneficial plan for two longtime Jerauld County entities to swap buildings on Main Street.

The tree sparkled in the bay window of our modest home on Dakota Avenue in Wessington Springs. After being decorated shortly after Thanksgiving, the pine needles were beginning to dry and fall to the floor below.
