In celebration of his tenth year of ownership of the Humm-Dinger, Jason Zacher hosted a free lunch for the community. Tuesday, from 10 to 2, a large crowd gathered to celebrate and enjoy a BBQ pulled pork lunch as well as cotton candy and freezies for the kids.

Over 60 golfers plus a dozen friends enjoyed an 8 a.m. breakfast buffet on the morning of June 10, 2023, at the Red Hog Pub and Casino in Alpena, before making their way to the Springs Country Club (SCC), aboard the Red Hog Express bus and a number of other vehicles.

The True Dakotan traveled to Maine last fall with Mike and Teri Mebius and the Troy, Tara, Logan, Max and Madi Mebius family. “We have always wanted to see the fall color — there was lots of orange, yellow, and reds. It was truly beautiful there,” Mike said.

With Fourth of July falling on our press day, Tuesday, this year, our printer will be closed so that press room employees can celebrate Independence Day. While our press deadline schedule for the coming week is early on Monday, the print and e-edition will still be distributed on Wednesday, July 5.

Artist’s Way: WSHS Alumni Mural to be Featured at Jerauld County Pioneer Museum

Jack Neely, 2023 graduate of WSHS, recently handed over his project from senior experience to the Jerauld County Pioneer Museum in Wessington Springs. Earlier in his senior year, Jack decided to do a 4 foot by 8 foot mural depicting modern warfare for his senior experience project.
