Central Electric awards grants to area groups in Kimball, Gann Valley

Central Electric Cooperative recently awarded a $500 grant to the South Dakota Tractor Museum, a $500 grant to the Gann Valley Community Center and a $1,000 grant to Buffalo County Rural Fire District through Operation Round-Up.
Two longtime employees were celebrated for their service at a celebration held August 12, 2023 at the Weskota Manor nursing home. LaVonne Cashman and Dave Bender worked for 41 and 19 years, respectively, at the nursing home, calling the staff and residents of the Manor their second families.

Alpena was bursting at the seams Saturday as the town hosted three coinciding events including a tractor pull, car show and all-school reunion. “It was a fantastic turnout,” said Alpena fireman and tractor pull organizer Chris Albrecht.
