SDSU Students Compete in Undergraduate Range Management Exam

WSHS Alumni Landon Wolter Among Top Three Team Individuals A team of 11 SDSU students, including Wessington Springs High School alumni Landon Wolter, competed in the Undergraduate Range Management Exam (URME) held at the Society for Range Management Annual Meeting in Boise, Idaho Feb. 12-16.

Scheel leads FCCLA members in Midwest Honor Flight awareness, fundraising event

With the coordination of Project Leader Carissa Scheel, the Wessington Springs FCCLA Chapter hosted a fundraising and awareness event for the Midwest Honor Flight, raising approximately $8,000 for the organization whose mission is to transport America’s Veterans to Washington, D.C.

Drum roll please... The second annual Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) Athletic Hall of Fame Inductions will be unveiled this Friday, taking place during half time of the boys varsity basketball game on February 17.
It was”all hands on deck” during WSHS student Harlee Heim’s cat spay/neuter clinic she organized as part of her senior project. Held at Prairie View Veterinary Clinic in Wessington Springs with surgeries and procedures performed by veterinary staff, the project’ spayed/neutered 50 feral and/or companion animal cats. City park proves to be top wintertime destination

The sound of laughter filled the air on the south side of Wessington Springs as kids and families headed to the city park during another community open sledding day last Tuesday.
