The Wessington Springs High School Class of 2026 turned its senior experience projects into a record-setting year of giving back, donating a combined $29,639 to local and international organizations.
According to longtime senior project advisor Charlotte Mohling, the total marks an alltime record for senior experience projects.
“This is a class of students who want to give back to their community because the community has supported them,” Mohling said.
Organizations benefiting from this year’s projects included the Jerauld County Food Pantry, Wessington Springs PTO, Springs Area Bus, Blue Bag Program, Bucks Football, Weskota Foundation and Anchors of Hope.
Community members supported the students’ efforts throughout the year through fundraisers, events and donations tied to the projects, helping make the record-setting total possible.
