Tate Schoenfelder joins Wolsey-Wessington this fall as the district’s middle and high school principal, stepping into his first administrative position after seven years in the classroom.
Originally from Mitchell, Schoenfelder earned his bachelor’s degree in history education from Dakota Wesleyan University in 2019 and completed his master’s degree through Northern State University in 2025. Before coming to Wolsey-Wessington, he spent seven years teaching high school social studies at Hanson School District.
The move to Wolsey-Wessington marks Schoenfelder’s transition from teaching into school administration.
