Seasonal workers the “face” of major South Dakota attractions

WALL, S.D. – Despite consistent visitation in recent years and recordbreaking visitor spending, critical South Dakota tourist attractions remain subject to broader concerns as the peak tourist season begins.The most common challenge is finding adequate workforce.

Honor Society Inductees Announced for WSMS and WSHS

Demonstrating excellence in scholarship, service, leadership and character, Wessington Springs High School and Middle School students were inducted into the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society earlier in May.

Wessington Springs Designated a Tree City USA by Arbor Day Foundation

Wessington Springs is officially a Tree City USA community, joining 25 other towns in South Dakota with the distinction. The designation comes from the Arbor Day Foundation and recognizes cities and towns that demonstrate a commitment to growing and maintaining a healthy urban forest.

Area programs pay tribute, honor those lost in service to country

Although a common theme coursed through Memorial Day programs held Monday — remembering those who fought and died for our freedoms, and the way of life we value — each presentation was unique in its Memorial Day message.
