The South Dakota Association of Career and Technical Education (SDACTE) announced this month that Charlotte Mohling, family and consumer sciences educator and FCCLA advisor at the Wessington Springs School District, has been named SDACTE Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

Jerauld-Buffalo County Achievement Days were held August 5-7, 2024. The first day took youth to the 4-H barn to exhibit livestock. Livestock entries were judged by Jeff VanderWal from Howard, SD.

The annual HuntSAFE Program will be held in Wessington Springs on September 10, 12 and 14. The first two sessions will be held from 6 - 9:30 p.m. at the Jerauld County Courthouse. The final session will be held at the Jerauld County Trap Club range from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Following the Sons of American Legion Poker Run Saturday which drew 10 bikes, one slingshot and four vehicles, the Sons invited the community as a whole to Main Street in Wessington Springs for supper and live music.
