She was born on August 8, 1952, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Delbert and Alma (Clyde) Bennett. She married Doug Farris on June 27, 1975, in Letcher, SD, celebrating 50 years of marriage last summer.

Connie graduated from Letcher High School and attended SDSU. She was a devoted member of Spirit of Faith Church in Woonsocket, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was active in United Methodist Women. Connie worked as a daycare provider and later as a bank teller until retiring in 2015, and also served her community as a city librarian and leader of the local music boosters. She found joy in ceramics and quilting, and had a knack for putting together creative patterns and finding new inspirations. In recent years, she was lovingly known as “Ms. Connie” to the elementary students she faithfully read to on a regular basis.

Connie is survived by her husband, her daughters, Jill Farris (Mike Torres), Amy (Mike) Heiberger, and Holly Farris, as well as her grandchildren, Beatrice, Stella, Rowan, and Sylvia. Connie is also survived by her siblings, Lynn (Jean) Bennett, Gayle Bennett, and Carol Bender, and her in-laws, Jean Diedtrich, Todd (Penny) Farris, Sharon Knapp, Jon (Michele) Farris, and Chris (Mary) Farris, as well as many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, her in-laws Jack and Melda Farris, brothers-in-law Alan Bender and John Knapp, and her infant brother Larry.

Arrangements are with Nurnberg-Basham Funeral Service.
