Rocky Allen Hauge was born April 5 in Wessington Springs, SD, to Roland and Krola (Knigge) Hauge. He graduated from White Lake High School with the Class of 1982.
After high school, he worked for Rob and Janet Bosworth for a few years before joining the Air Force. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist.
After retiring from the military in 2007, he worked for the BNSF Railroad for two years. He went on to work for Joe and Dan Bosworth for 12 years (2009-2021).
Rocky truly was a man who loved to work hard and took pride in everything he did. He had a strong passion for being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting trap, playing cards, and shooting pool. Rocky loved to visit with anyone he came across and could be found at local businesses in his spare time.
He was a member of the VFW Post 6554 in Aurora County.
Wrestling was one of his greatest passions, and he poured that love into his kids and the sport itself. Rocky’s pride in his children was obvious to anyone who knew him, and he carried their accomplishments close to his heart.
In December of 2020, Rocky was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. Despite the weight of that news, he faced his illness with the same grit and perseverance he carried throughout his life. During his journey, he was surrounded by the support of his family, friends, and his community, who stood by him and brought comfort through even the hardest days. He long outlived the prognosis he was given, a testament to the kind of man he was, always giving a little more and never hesitating to go the extra mile. He was a fighter and left a lasting example of strength for all who knew him.
Rocky will be deeply missed by his wife, Marsha (Markhardt), and three children: Austin (22), Alexis (19), and Arrick (16). He is also survived by his siblings, Rick Hauge, Marty and Jody Hauge, Rhonda and Don Bies, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
