The Pony Hills wrestling club is wrapping up a successful season where each wrestler saw improvement throughout the year.
The District Five wrestling tournament was held Saturday March 5 in Kimball South Dakota. Pony Hills had 14 wrestlers representing the club in their respective age and weight classes. Those fourteen wrestlers were Will Grohs, Kix Coleman, Kash Woodin, Ethan Heumiller, Kolt Messmer, Myles Tanke, Casen Waters, Kohen Mebius, Lorin Schaller, Hastin Heezen, Nolan Schaller, Hayes Christensen and Kaddilac Coleman. The boys all wrestled tough and punched their tickets to the Region 3 wrestling tournament held in Mitchell on Saturday March 12. The Pony Hills wrestlers represented the club well and wrestled many tough matches.
Pony Hills was able to advance five wrestlers through to the state tournament. Those wrestlers advancing are; Will Grohs, Kash Woodin, Lorin Schaller, Kix Coleman, and Kaddilac Coleman.
Pony Hills wrestlers have one more week of practice before the State AAU wrestling Tournament held in Sioux Falls on the weekend of March 26-27. Fans wanting to follow the results can visit www.trackwrestling.com.
