Caroline Larson, 94, of WessingtonSpringspassed away Sunday December 18 at the Weskota Manor Avera Nursing Home in Wessington Springs.
Caroline was born on February 9, 1928 to Jacob and Margaret (Seitz) Spies in Mauston, WI. She graduated from Mauston High School in 1946.
On November 26, 1947 she was united in marriage to Floyd Larson in Mauston, WI. They moved to Arlington, SD and lived there for one year. In October 1948 they moved to Wessington Springs where they owned and operated the dry cleaning and laundromat business. Her husband Floyd passed away in 1963. Caroline continued to operate the business until she sold it in 1967. She attended Huron College of Commerce and when she completed the course, she went to work at American State Bank until 1974 when she moved to Madison, WI. There she worked for Meritea Hospital in patient business services for 20 years, retiring in 1994 and moving back to Wessington Springs.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Alter Society, Legion Auxiliary, belonged to several bridge clubs and at one time was active in bowling and golfing leagues.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. Special thanks and appreciation to her dear friend Twila Whitehead and the staff at Weskota Manor. Rest in Peace Aunt C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Craig, daughter-in-law, two sisters and their husbands and a nephew.
Her memorial service will be held at a later date.
