  • During Thursday night’s winning game against Lower Brule, Avery Orth (holding the golden volleyball) reached the impressive milestone of 1000 kills. Coach Lynn Damm said, “This is an awesome achievement...not something that a lot pf players are able to get. She’s unique in the fact that she’s a middle and can play back row as well.   • It was a 35-12 homecoming victory for the Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central Blackhawks Friday over the Tripp-Delmont/Armor/Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunderhawks in Wessington Springs. Ryder Michalek (11) led the Blackhawks with six catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

    School spirit was on high as students and community members celebrated through the “Decades” themed Wessington Springs Homecoming Week. To top it off, The Lady Spartans volleyball team celebrated two wins and second place in an invitational tournament, with a smoldering victory for the Blackhawks under Friday Night Lights as well.
