Darleen wrote her news Monday morning. Delia got it later in the forenoon.
Darleen enjoyed the cordon bleu chicken dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. At 2:30 p.m. Darleen had a long walk to the clinic for her six-month check-up with Dr. Lim. She received a good report.
Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the shredded pork dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 2:30 p.m. the Methodist women’s fellowship met in the dining room. Mary Jane Belz and Darleen Cuppy were hostesses. Mary Jane brought muffins and Darleen brought Ritz crackers with cheese and salami. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Pastor Cheri Van Gorp, Diane Patton, Sandy Beckman, Diane Winter and Elaine Roetman. Diane Winter brought some delicious raisin bars.
Wednesday Judy Baumgart was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served donuts and donut holes. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Pastor Nancy Rieke, Vera Salter, Lorraine Schultz, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Wednesday noon Darleen enjoyed the chicken, potato salad and cheesecake from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played. Lynette Marken called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Ruth Jensen, Joyce Mees, Diane Carlson, Doris Deneke, Shirley Bender, Judy Baumgart, Marilyn Robbins and Darleen Cuppy. Doris Deneke furnished rolls for coffee.
Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode with Rhonda LePage to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for her 10:30 a.m. appointment. Darleen enjoyed the beef tips on rice, peas and bar from the Manor kitchen. There was no Twins game – All Star break.
Friday Darleen enjoyed the chicken dinner and pineapple from the Senior Center.
Saturday Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some things Darleen needed. At 6 p.m. the Minnesota Twins played the Milwaukee Brewers. It went 12 innings! Milwaukee won 8-4. Later in the evening Darleen’s daughter Cathy White and Nora of Sioux Falls and Baleigh Grace and Chance Howard Sails brought chicken strips and coleslaw from the Cone Zone to Grandma Dar for supper. Cathy, Nora, Candi, Baleigh and Chance were leaving Sunday morning to spend several days vacationing in the Black Hills.
Sunday Darleen Cuppy, Mary Lou Cameron and Rochelle Witte rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We sang “Praise the King of Kings”, “Change my Heart, O God” and “Father’s House.” Several joys and concerns were shared. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. The offering was taken, and Pastor Cheri had three children for the Children’s Message. We sang “The Lily of the Valley.” Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “Raise Up a Remnant.” We closed with the hymn “May You Run and Not Be Weary.”
Darleen enjoyed the pork dinner and cherry pie from the Manor kitchen. Darleen went for a walk in the late afternoon.
