Michael R. Miller of Watertown and formerly of Huron, passed away at the age of 75 on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in Watertown, SD.
A Celebration of Life was held from 1 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Cloud 9 (625 20th Ave SE, Watertown, SD 57201).
Michael Ray Miller was born December 26, 1948 in Quincy, Illinois to Ray and Lois (Tenvorde) Miller. He grew up in Quincy graduating from Quincy Senior High School and then attended Gem City College in Quincy.
On August 26, 1970 he married Nita L. Christensen and was blessed with two sons, Chris and Kevin.
Michael was a jeweler who owned and operated Miller’s Jewelry in Huron, South Dakota for over 45 years. He also repaired clocks and jewelry in his store.
He was a member of the Huron Elks Club and Huron Country Club.
Michael enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool and hunting pheasants.
Grateful to have shared in Michael’s life are his sons, Chris (Janelle) Miller of Watertown, SD and Kevin (Denise) Miller of Strandburg, SD; five grandchildren, Dakota (Jason) Kalsbeck, Montana Larsen, Derek Miller, Connor Miller and Rylan Miller.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nita; his parents, Ray and Lois Miller; and his father and mother in-law, Jens and Lucille Christensen.
