Darleen Cuppy wrote hernewsMondaymorning and Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. It was Labor Day.
Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some things Darleen needed. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play Tampa Bay. The Twins won 5-4.
Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the lasagna dinner from the Senior Center. Joanne Grohs delivered it. In the evening the Minnesota Twins played Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay won 2-1.
Vera Salter was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday. Norm Salter of Alpena served delicious caramel rolls. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson, Lorraine Schultz, and Darleen Cuppy. Wednesday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Tampa Bay Rays. Tampa Bay won 9-4.
Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus with Rhonda LePage to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. Later Rhonda delivered the sub sandwich, macaroni salad and cookies from the Senior Center. The Minnesota Twins played the Tampa Bay Rays. The Twins won 4-3.
Friday Darleen enjoyed the hot dog, potato salad and watermelon from the Manor kitchen. It was a beautiful day, so Darleen went for a walk in the late afternoon. That night the Minnesota Twins played the Kansas City Royals. The KC Royals won 5-0.
Saturday was another very nice fall day! Darleen enjoyed the Salisbury steak dinner from the Manor kitchen. Darleen went for a walk in the evening and visited with Judy Baumgart on the bench out front. Judy was waiting for her daughter to come. Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals. The KC Royals won again 4-2.
Sunday Darleen Cuppy, Rochelle Witte and Elaine Roetman rode the bus with Joanne Grohs to the Methodist Church. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp is on vacation. Gerald Kraft led the church service. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Gerald Kraft welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We sang “This is my Father’s World.” Joys and concerns were shared with some health problems and happy birthday was sung to Roger Cashman. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. The offering was taken by Neil Doering and Jeff Kieser and then we sang the Doxology. Gerald Kraft led the children’s message. Grandma Deb Weeldreyer Ball took granddaughter Kreighton down. We sang the hymn “My Jesus.” Gerald Kraft’s sermon was “While We Wait.” He asked for comments or questions from the congregation. Tammy Mettler, Diane Winter, Julie Kraft and Elaine Roetman added their comments. We closed with the hymn “Less Like Me.”
Darleen enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Darleen watched the Minnesota Vikings play the NY Giants. The Vikings won 28-6. Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails and Baleigh brought a cheeseburger and tater tots from the Cone Zone. They stayed to do several errands for Darleen and to visit a while.
