PATRICIA ANN CROW NIEMEYER

Patricia Ann Crow Niemeyer, age 95, passed away Sunday September 14, 2025. Funeral service arrangements are pending.

Patricia was born in Madison, SD May 13, 1930, to Leslie and Ann (Hillestad) Crow. She attended elementary school in Madison and graduated from high school in Menomonie, WI where her family had moved after the death of her father and remarriage of her mother to Robert Peck. After attending a teacher’s college in Menomonie, she taught for two years at Joe Creek rural school near Pierre, SD.

On April 12, 1952, Pat married Norman Niemeyer in Pierre. They lived in Sisseton, SD where all three of their children were born. They also lived in Sioux Falls, Huron and Pierre where Norm was a South Dakota Highway Patrol Captain. Upon retirement, they moved to Faulkton, SD where Norm served as Clerk of Courts.

After full retirement they spent several winters in Harlingen, TX, later moving to Wessington Springs, SD where Norm passed away on August 8, 2004. Pat returned to Huron and later back to Wessington Springs.

In July of 2013, Pat moved to Granbury, TX to be near her son Mike and his family.

Pat was a member of Riverview United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and belonged to study groups. Norm and Pat had many years of camping with family and friends and over time belonged to three camping clubs. Her greatest joy was just being with people!

Pat is survived by two sons, Mike (Brenda) Granbury, TX, Jon (Carla) Wessington Springs, SD, and a daughter Kris Venner Rapid City, SD, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, one brother James (Mary) Crow, their three sons and families from Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norm, parents, grandparents and one great grandson, several aunts and uncles.
