Bernice Eddy, age 97, of Woonsocket, died Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Prairie View Care Center in Woonsocket. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2026, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Woonsocket. Burial will follow at Eventide Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, also at the church with a prayer service beginning at 7. Bernice was born on March 22, 1929, to Henry and Lydia (Jerke) Hansen. She had one sister Emma and one brother Henry. On December 22, 1946, she married Robert Eddy and to this union three children were born; Connie, Gary and Bradley. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran faith and spent her life as a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.
She lived in the Woonsocket area all of her life. Bernice was employed at Van Dyke Taxidermy for 39 years. She also worked as a kitchen aid at Prairie View Care Center for 13 years. She always enjoyed Tuesday afternoon cards and Wednesday afternoon quilting.
She is survived by her three children; Connie (Dennis) Kludt, Gary (Louise) Eddy and Bradley (Brenda) Eddy; eight grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert in 1993; siblings, Emma Neumeyer and Henry Hansen; parents-in-law, Elwin and Jenny Eddy; sister-in-law, Janice Eddy; and brothersin- law, Ralph Neumeyer, Leon Eddy, Arnold Eddy.
