Betty Elizabeth Heisel, 95, formerly of Wessington Springs passed away Sunday March 26, 2023 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday April 1, 2023 at the Foothills Bible Fellowship Church in Wessington Springs. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Garden Cemetery at Huron. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Betty was born November 30, 1927 in Huron, South Dakota to August and Natalie Neitzert. She attended and graduated school in Huron and then earned her degree from cosmetology school in Watertown, SD.
On September 6, 1947 Betty was united in marriage to Philip (Bud) Heisel. They had two children, Carol and Clifford. Together they farmed most of their life near Wessington Springs before retiring in 2008 and moving to Huron.
Betty was a very unselfish person who showed her love for others every day.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Colbenson (Marvin) of Holmen, WI; four grandchildren Travis (Nikki) Skroch, Darin (Pam) Skroch, Brent (Laurie) Skroch, Karissa (Matt) St. Aubin; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phillip (Bud) in 2013, her son Clifford in 1973, her sister Eunice Hampton, and three brothers Fritz, Augie, and Eddie.
