MARLAND LEE LINAFELTER

Marland Lee Linafelter, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 13, 2025, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

Born on December 3, 1938, in Alpena, South Dakota, to Everett and Opal Linafelter, Marland was raised on a family farm north of Wessington Springs, South Dakota.

Marland was a man of many talents, wearing the hats of farmer, businessman, lobbyist, network specialist, and exceptional salesman. Yet, theroleshecherishedmost were those of husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit, Marland lived life with enthusiasm and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

On September 12, 1970, Marland married the love of his life, Seanna Sporrer, beginning a 55year love story. He is survived by his beloved wife, Seanna; sons, Rod (Stephanie) Linafelter of Vail, Colorado, and Wade Linafelter of Lead, South Dakota; daughters, Nikki (Pat) Oliver of Casper, Wyoming, and Tara (Ryan) Niesent of Spearfish, South Dakota; grandchildren, Chelsea, Andrea, Lexi, Grace, April, Austin, Rylee, Reagan, and Ryder; greatgranddaughter, Marlee; sister, Karen (Duke) Wenzel of Wessington Springs, South Dakota; and a special friend, Tori Vette-Bissell.

Welcoming him into heaven are his parents, Everett and Opal Linafelter; granddaughter, Peyton Linafelter; and dear friends, Rollie Rosedahl and Robbie Niesent.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Spearfish, SD.
