Dorothy Delaine Meyer Travnicek, PhD, 91, recently of Hampton NH, passed away on January 4, 2026. She was born January 3, 1935 in Mitchell SD and raised on a farm near Alpena, South Dakota, the elder daughter of Theodore and Leah (Dietrich) Meyer. She was a Home Economist by profession.

CURTIS MITCHELL

Curtis Mitchell, age 75, of Wessington Springs, died Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital after a battle with ALS. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A full obituary is forthcoming.

Joyce Christensen, age 78, of Yankton, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 17 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Yankton with Pastor Edie Broadbent officiating.

Bernice Marie (Kaiser) Burg, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, after a four-year battle with dementia. She was lovingly cared for and deeply cherished.Born on March 3, 1942, Bernice was raised in Yankton, South Dakota, where she later met and married Jim Burg on July 22, 1967.
