“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen wrote her news Monday morning. Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the chicken and noodles hot dish, carrots and watermelon from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play the Colorado Rockies. The Twins won 5-0!

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the chicken drummies, potato salad and Jello from the Senior Center delivered by Rhonda LePage. At 2:30 Pastor Cheri of the Methodist Church had a meeting for church members to get better acquainted. She and Elaine Roetman served crackers and two kinds of cheese spread. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Diane Winter, Diane Patton, Darleen Cuppy, Mary Lou Cameron, and Gladys Kieser. Tuesday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies won 5-4.

Wednesday Vera Salter was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She didn’t feel good, so her sister Kathy Larson served delicious apple fritters to Judy Baumgart, Lorraine Schultz, Luella Teveldal, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Darleen enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins play the Colorado Rockies at noon. The Twins won big 17-9! Darleen enjoyed the lasagna, salad, and pudding from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs.

Thursday was a rainy day. Darleen rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for her 10:30 a.m. appointment. Darleen enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich, peas and pudding from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Oakland A’s. The Twins won 6-2.

Friday Darleen enjoyed the meatloaf, green beans, baked potato and ice cream from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Oakland A’s. The Twins won 6-5 in the 10th inning!

Saturday Darleen’s daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster came to get Darleen at 10 a.m. to drive to Watertown to celebrate Carol Cuppy Collins 60th birthday. It was held in her church fellowship hall. Hosting the party were her children Brittany, Ashley and Dylan. They served sandwiches, birthday cupcakes and ice cream. Other family members attending were Darryl and Nancy Cuppy of Harrold, SD, Cathy and Ella White of Sioux Falls, Connie Cuppy Theure of Rosemont, MN. Cathy and Ella drove Darleen home. They stopped at the Cone Zone to visit Candi and Leon, Baleigh and Chance. Darleen bought supper for the group.

Sunday Darleen rode the bus to the Methodist Church. Others riding the bus were Rochelle Witte, Gladys Kieser and Elaine Roetman. Pastor Cheri was at the Conference Meeting. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Rod Huisman welcomed everyone and said a prayer. Music by Kirk Luymes on guitar and Laura Kieser, Sandy Beckman, Lila Hoffman, Diane Winter and Julie Kraft sang “Ancient Words” and “The House of the Lord.” During Joys & Concerns, several people asked for prayers for family members with health problems. We all said the Lord’s Prayer, then the offering was taken and a special offering for Royal Family Kids Camp. Rod Huisman said a prayer, then led the Children’s Message with quite a few children going down front. We sang “Sweet, Sweet Spirit.” Marvin Thomas gave the sermon “We will never have the answers. Share what you know and what you think.” We closed with the hymn “I Stand Amazed in the Presence.”

Darleen enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Oakland A’s at 1 p.m. The Twins won. Darleen’s granddaughter Becky Krueger stopped in to visit in the afternoon.

“It was Father’s Day. We all have many special memories.”
