Tuesdaymyhomehealth girl Kelly Knippling Gran came at 11:30 a.m. and did two loads of laundry, vacuumed, etc. I enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. My granddaughter Nicole Cuppy Hedt called me from New York City at 4 p.m. She does a lot of traveling for her work. She is Darryl and Nancy Cuppy’s daughter.

Vera Salter was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday. Norma Salter of Alpena served delicious caramel rolls. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Luella Teveldal, Judy Baumgart, Lorraine Schultz, Joyce Mees and son, and me.

I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cherry pie from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. A small group attended with Shirley Bender calling the numbers. Others attending were Doris Deneke, Joyce Mees, Lynette Marken and me.

Thursday, I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for my 10:30 a.m. appointment. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak dinner from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs. That evening at 7 p.m. I watched the Blackhawks football team play Aberdeen Roncalli on school channel #382. It was a close game, the Blackhawks won 14-13!

Friday, I enjoyed the taco and rice dinner from the Manor kitchen. I watched the World Series Game on Fox channel 7 at 7 p.m. The LA Dodgers played the NY Yankees. The LA Dodgers won.

Saturday, I enjoyed my favorite dinner from the Manor kitchen, BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread and grapes. Saturday afternoon I watched my granddaughter Ella Darleen White of Sioux Falls compete in a cheer contest in Rapid City. She cheers for Lincoln High School Patriots. She is the daughter of Cathy and Scott White and has a sister Nora who is in the band.

Sunday, I rode the bus to the Methodist Church with Mary Lou Cameron and Rochelle Witte. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We sang “Majesty, Worship His Majesty” and “Holy Holy.” Several joys and concerns were shared. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. A noisy offering was taken. Pastor Cheri and husband Doug Van Gorp took the offering, and we sang the doxology. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “Jacob called for his sons” Genesis 49:1321. We closed with the hymn “Precious Name.”

I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. About 5 p.m. the baked potato supper and pie from the Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge was delivered for a free will donation. Later in the evening my daughter Candi Sails and Baleigh got some things I needed and helped do several things for me. I am very grateful.
